First Visit – What to Expect
Dr. Bob will do an initial examination after listening to what concerns you have about your or your child’s smile, facial esthetics and bite. After the examination, our assistants will do a scan and take photos of your or your child’s bite and smile. These images provide more detail and will help Dr. Bob determine the best treatment plan options. At the subsequent treatment plan visit, Dr. Bob will thoroughly discuss the possible treatment options, answer all of your questions, and review the finances and payment plans available. The initial orthodontic treatment appointment(s) can be scheduled at this time.
Starting your Orthodontic Treatment
The initial appointment to start your treatment (for traditional braces or Invisalign aligners) is usually between 45-90 minutes depending on the individual case. If getting traditional braces, a quick appointment 1 week prior will be needed to put in spacers. Some treatments require an expander. Dr. Bob will discuss all of the details in the treatment conference and our scheduling assistants will help you schedule all of the necessary appointments.
Subsequent appointments for on-going adjustments will be scheduled about every 4 weeks and will be between 15-45 minutes, depending on the work that needs to be done. If you are getting Invisalign aligners, visits are typically 15 minutes and visits are between 4-6 weeks.
